So on August 8th, I ordered what was supposed to be a brand new ASUS ROG Astral LC GeForce RTX 5090 32GB GDDR7 OC from Amazon Germany.
This was meant to be a top-tier GPU. Instead, I got one of the worst “brand new” unboxings of my life.
What I Saw When I Opened the Box:
- The outer shipping box had a return label and re-taped shipping tag.
- The product packaging had dirt and wear marks, clearly not pristine.
- At first glance, the GPU looked okay… until I picked it up.
The Horror Show:
- The GPU felt too light.
- IC layout looked completely wrong.
- All four tamper-proof stickers were gone.
- Backplate was misaligned, screws in the wrong places.
- Power connector was bent inwards — cable literally can’t plug in.
- Suspected memory chips removed.
- And yes… the GPU core was missing.
